In its efforts to help better the community and introduce the culture of Ramadan, on Friday, July 25th, Pacifica -SFV organized an Iftar Dinner for two of the local Churches, First Presbyterian of Granada Hills, Christian Science Church and the local community. We had the great opportunity to share a meal and observing the holy month of Ramadan with our neighbors.

The Program started with a welcoming speech from the Pacifica SFV Outreach Coordinator Al A. He touched upon the challenging times we are going through in reference to the incidents happening in Israel and the whole region in general. He added “At times like these is where Dialog is desperately needed the most”. In closing, he congratulated all the participants of the night for their courage, will and dedication to Dialog. The program continued with a video explaining the meaning of Ramadan and Fasting in Islam briefly. The video was concluded by ezan (call to prayer) which signaled the time to break the fast. The many tasty dishes prepared by local volunteers of Pacifica Institute were enjoyed by all who attended. During the meal Jim Sharp from First Presbyterian of Granada Hills took to the stage to thank Pacifica institute for the Invitation and provided general information regarding his congregation. Pacifica Institute would like to thank our speakers and all of our guests, who joined us this night and made it extra special.
