Pacifica Institute San Diego Celebrates Mother’s Day (May 12th, 2012)

PI-SD Celebrates Mothers’ Day Mother’s day is a special time to think about and express gratitude to mothers everywhere. It is a day set aside to give mothers a special treat. To celebrate mothers’ day and honor “Mary” as a mother; women from Ladies of Hope (St. Peter’s Chaldean Catholic Church), Lad Madrinas (from St.Luke’s Catholic Church) and Pacifica Institute got together for a special event on May 12th,2012 hosted by Pacifica Institute.

Ladies enjoyed multicultural food at beautifully designed tables while talking about their favorite mother memories. Representatives introduced the organizations and their places in the community, and the speakers talked about Mary, what the significance of Mary is in their culture and in their religion. Couple of quotes on Mary from the events: …

“Mary is powerful, faithful, dedicated to God.”

“One of the most righteous women in Islamic tradition.”

From table settings to the food, mother’s day board to the live music, the event was a big success. Members of all the organizations participated. They left the event with big smiles, appreciation of one another and a hope to get together again for future projects.
