Pacifica Institute Celebrates Thanksgiving With Culver City Seniors (November 22nd, 2011)

Happy Thanksgiving!! Everybody has a reason to be thankful. If there is a list of the things we are thankful for, some people put health at the top of their list, others say his or her family, and the list goes on and on. Pacifica Institute decided to show some appreciation to our seniors. That’s why the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner organized by Pacifica Institute had special guests this year. 24 senior citizens from Culver City Rotary Plaza brought by special rides to the Los Angeles branch of Pacifica Institute and hosted as guests of honor to cherish them with the warmness of a family dinner table. They enjoyed the delicious food prepared by the volunteers, together with the warm company of local families. While the bodies were nourished with food, the souls were not forgotten. Musicians Brad Wright and Jamie Papish from Terra Vas Ensemble performed a mini concert after the dinner. Their beautiful melodies were accompanied by the joyful dances and cheers of seniors.

Before local families see them off with flowers and gifts at the end of this pleasant evening, closing remarks are given by the guests who wanted to share their feelings, some quoted below:

“We are grateful. Not just for the delicious food and the beautiful music that you provided us for free, more importantly for your great company. Please do not forget and invite us again.”

“Thank you very much! You really cared about us. It had been a long time since I spent such a lovely evening.”

“We were not sure what to expect when you first came and invited us. But look at us now! Everybody is very happy to be here.”

“Everything was just wonderful, I listened to the music with tears of joy on my eyes.”
