baharBahar Davary, is Associate Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego and affiliate faculty of the Ethnic Studies department.  She received her Ph.D. from the Catholic University of America in Catholic Theological Tradition and Muslim-Christian Dialogue.  She teaches courses on World Religion, Islamic Faith and Practice, Women, Islam, and Literature. Her research interests are: Qur’an and its interpretations, Women in Islam, Muslim-Christian Dialogue, and Islam and environment.

 

Ozgur kocaOzgur Koca, Assistant Professor at Claremont School of Theology. Özgür Koca spent ten years of his life teaching physics, mathematics and astronomy in different countries. After years of quantitative research he decided to journey to new perspectives in the fields of philosophy and religion. His studies in these diverse fields allow him to draw on the resources of science, philosophy, and theology to develop a constructive Islamic theology that can address the burning ethical, spiritual, political, and religious issues Muslim societies face today.   His studies focus on Islamic Philosophy-Theology-Spirituality, Science and Religion Discussion, Environmental Ethics, Interreligious Discourse, and Contemporary Islamic Movements and Ideologies.

 

DrangDarang Sahdana Candra is a master of international affairs candidate at the School of Global Policy and Strategy, University of California at San Diego. He pursues his study in the U.S. under the State Department’s Fulbright Scholarship. He previously worked as research assistant at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, Honolulu, and ASEAN Study Center of the University of Indonesia, Jakarta. He had published several articles on international security issues.

 

 

UntitledAisha Subhan is a political science major at the UCSD. She is in her third year of college and hopes to continue her studies after graduation. As a career, she hopes to be a journalist focusing on the region of the Middle East. Outside of university, Aisha often times contributes to her blog on The Huffington Post or planning events for her club United that aims to better relations between Muslims and Jews. She is a proud Muslim and hopes to see and contribute to true Understanding between peoples, groups, and nations too.
