A traditional interfaith iftar event led by Pacifica Institute and Calvary Presbyterian Church in the framework of promoting interfaith dialogue was held at Calvary Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. The event which started half an hour before the iftar was attended by about 250 people. It was wished to have peace, love and tolerance all over the world at the event by the attendees coming from diverse faith communities.

The event started with the welcoming remarks by Rev. John Weems and Fatih Ates and followed by the videos about Pacifica Institute and Ramadan.

Dr Scott Alexander, the keynote speaker at the gathering, inspired the audiences with his landmark speech in which he emphasized the dialogue with faith communities.

Rev. Ronald Kobata from SFIC presented the honors to W. David Barnes (Calvary), Nancy Sheftel-Gomes (Sherith Israel) and Iftekhar Hai (United Muslims of America) at the event.

The iftar started with a call to prayer. The importance of such programs was noted during verbatim dialogues in the hope that such programs will continue to increase.

The event came to conclusion after the impressive live performance of Ebru art, water marbling, by an Ebru artist Hulya Yaatasi.
