Here is a yummy recipe for flour halvah.

Flour Halvah

Ingredients:

  • 100gr unsalted butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp pine nuts or shredded almonds
  • Fruits, cinnamon, walnuts for decoration.

Syrup:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

Preparation:

  1. In a medium pot mix syrup ingredients and boil them letting the sugar melt.
  2. Meanwhile, in a sauce pan, melt butter and add nuts. Stirring constantly, roast them fully. Be very careful not to burn them. Add flour and keep stirring. The flour should get a light brown color.
  3. Add syrup very carefully (it may split out). Mix it with flour as fast as you can creating a pudding like mixture. Close the lid and let it simmer over low-medium heat for a couple of minutes.
  4. Put aside and let it cool.
  5. While the halvah is warm you may give it a shape you like or just spread it on a cooking pan. Decorate with nuts and fruits of your choice.
