Speaker Bio:
Mr. Bassounas is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised as Greek Orthodox Christian.
He lived in Greece for three years: 7 years old to 10 years old.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and master’s in Computer Science.
He has lived in Japan for three years and introduced to Shinnyo-en Buddhism in 1992
and been a member since then.
He has joined the Shinnyo-en temple office in 1996 at the New York branch, in
White Plains, New York and transferred to the San Francisco temple in 2000.
He has been in the Bay Area since then. He is currently living in San Mateo and
serving at the Shinnyo-en USA Head Temple in Redwood City, California.
He is married with two children.
