Pacifica Institute is continuing to Build Bridges Among Cultures with its 8th Annual Dialog and Friendship Dinner.

Pacifica Institute held its 8th Annual Dialog and Friendship dinner on Monday, October 29th, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in San Francisco. Some of the distinguished guests were Congressman Mike Honda, Supervisor Dave Cortese, Mayor of Sunnyvale Tony Spitaleri, Mayor of Union City Mark Green and San Francisco Turkish Chamber of Commerce Ebru Gülsoy Rojas. The night started out with reception and dinner. Keynote speaker was Mr. Mustafa Akyol, journalist and author of “Islam without Extremes: A Muslim Case for Liberty”. He was very interesting and provided good quality information to the audience. Question and answer session after the talk invoked the guests to engage with Mr. Akyol.

Pacifica Institute awarded Congressman Mike Honda with Peace and Dialog Leader plaque which was presented by Pacifica Institute Advisory Board Member Professor Gerald Grudzen. Supervisor Dave Cortese was awarded with Diversity Leader plaque which was presented by Advisory Board Member Rev. Dr. Bob Butziger.

Over 200 guests enjoyed Sufi music and Assistant Special Agent of FBI Craig Fair from San Francisco made the closing remarks.
