On Saturday, October 25, 2014, twenty-four Pacifica Institute volunteers met with other Canopy volunteers in the College Terrace neighborhood to plant 26 new trees.

Canopy is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to planting and protecting trees in parks, at schools, and along streets of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and neighboring communities.

Maika Horjus, Canopy’s Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, thanked the volunteers and commented that “… not only did they make a difference, but the effort invested will have positive impacts for decades to come; as these trees mature and thrive, they will provide a host of benefits to the neighborhood and wider community, including shade, clean air, and a more vibrant urban tree canopy.”

Thanks You to our Pacifica volunteers for putting in a morning of digging, planting, and staking to enrich the lives of all who live and pass through the College Terrace neighborhood!
