On Thursday, November 20, in conjunction with World COPD Day, Breathe California hosted a free patient education workshop for patients, caregivers and others interested in learning more about COPD — the 3rd-leading killer in the the U.S.

At the workshop, Breathe California recognized Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren for her leadership and participation on the Congressional COPD Caucus, a bipartisan group of lawmakers working together to actively push for COPD awareness and promote government policies to improve the lives of COPD patients.

Workshop speakers included Elizabeth Landsverk, MD — ElderConsult Geriatric Medicine; Vivian Silva, MS – gerontogy lecturer, San Jose State University; and Lauren Selmeier – VP, Clinical Marketing, PneumRx.

Following the workshop, singer-songwriter Carl Tilchen performed songs related to clean air and healthy lungs.  It was a fun and informative day for all those who attended.

Breathe California thanks its sponsors, community partners and volunteers who made this event possible!
