It is an honor to be here and thank you so much for having me here tonight’, he concluded.

So on behalf of City of Sunnyvale, Department of Public Safety we thank you for what you do.’

He then continued ‘I want to really to thank you for inviting all of us to join with you especially those of us who practice other faiths, I am a Hindu and I certainly understand and appreciate fasting and the discipline and reflection it allows during the time of Ramadan for practicing Muslims is really something that I think speaks to how you live your lives all year around. I think that sense of sacrifice, that sense of discipline, understanding and appreciating what you have allows you to truly serve in a very pure way.  And I am so appreciative of that. Frankly, I love living where I live and I love being a councilmember in San Jose. As the Pacifica Institute’s motto ‘Building Bridges among Cultures’ , I don’t know many other places in the world where that’s done as good as it is done here. Thanks to the organizations like Pacifica Institute. We are all neighbors, friends, co-workers and it is in such meetings as this one, where you get the sense that we are all in this life together . It is so much fun and enjoyable when we share experiences with each other. So I want to thank you for allowing me to share this experience with all of you’.
The night continued with vivid conversations at each table sprinkled with people from different cultures and faiths. As the nights comes to a close, many people has gracefully left the Pacifica Institute thanking the organizers for an incredible opportunity of dialogue and friendship that they were able to cultivate in their tables.
