On Saturday, November 14th, Pacifica Institute organized an Appreciation Dinner for the participants of 7th International Children’s Festival at the Bay Area. Several children and adults from various cultures including Russia, Myanmar, India, Turkey, and Bosnia etc. were present at the dinner.
At the beginning of the program, recent terror attacks in Paris and Beirut have been strongly condemned and in solidarity of these attacks, everyone was invited to 30-seconds silent moment.
A video clip that is prepared from the Children’s Festival has been shown to remember the beauty of Bay Area’s cultural variety. Guests and children were participated in small games and enjoy team-work and competition.
Towards the end of the program, individuals from each participating group have been invited to the stage. Mr. Mahmut Altun, Regional Director of Pacifica Institute Northern California, presented each individual a framed photo of his/her dance group from the Children’s Festival as a token of appreciation. After the closing remarks from the guests, the program has ended with a quotation from a famous poet Rumi:
“Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because, for those who love with heart and soul, there is no separation.”
