Forget the Super Bowl! It’s Super SOLE Sunday!

If you are like most Americans, you have a nice home, and a closet full of shoes. While we are blessed, many children are beginning their day with barely enough to wear, and no shoes.

Pacifica Institute Silicon Valley Youth Club started new year with a set of social projects.

The first one was the “Super Sole shoe cutting party” on Super Bowl Sunday February 7, 2016. Volunteers recycled old blue jeans and jugs into the materials needed to construct simple shoes. The shoe uppers  produced by the volunteers will be sewn and attached to outer soles made from recycled tires. Local tailors and shoemakers assemble  the finished shoes which are distributed through medical clinics.
