On June 22, 2016, Santa Teresa Catholic Church hosted its first ever Ramadan-Iftar dinner with Pacifica Institute.

Ramadan is the 9th holy month of Islam and Muslims around the world fast during this month. The fasting lasts from sunrise to sunset and can take up to 22 hours! Over 100 guests form different congregations as well as Pacifica volunteers joined together and displayed a wonderful way of bringing people with different backgrounds to enjoy and experience this month with their Muslim friends.

Pacifica’s own director, Mahmut Altun had recited the Azan (call to prayer) while another santa_teresa_02 member of the congregations recited Ava Maria, showing the difference but many similarities between these two religions.
