Mahir Zeynalov will talk about the unsettled situation in Turkey after the unsuccessful coup attempt and the tightening of control by the current political regime in the country, which led to the arrest of more than 100 journalists and over 30,000 civilians and government officials.

Mahir Zeynalov is a daily correspondent for Today’s Zaman, a weekly columnist for Al Arabiya, and a blogger at Huffington Post based in Washington D.C. Zeynalov first started his professional career at Los Angeles Times, working with veteran journalist David Holley based in Moscow. He later joined Today’s Zaman as a foreign affairs correspondent and an acting web editor. He has been writing weekly columns for Al Arabiya since 2013. He has been twice recognized by the Foreign Policy magazine among the top 100 people following foreign policy. Mashable also listed Zeynalov in 14 most “reliable sources” regarding Syria.
