On March 22, 2017 an Interfaith Unity Seder Service was held at Santa Teresa Catholic Parish in San Jose, California. The Unity Seder Service was led by Rabbi Laurie Hahn Tapper and Father George Aranha, the Pastor of Santa Teresa Parish.

In attendance were about 150 people including Catholics, Christians, Jews, and Muslims from the Pacifica Institute. The Seder Service was a call to unity and a more peaceful community as a way to fight against anti-semitism and Islamophobia.

Everyone enjoyed meeting people of different faiths and getting to know one another on a one-to-one basis. Many Catholics commented that they really enjoyed getting to know their Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters and that they were grateful for such an opportunity.

A Turkish Muslim from the Pacifica Institute was grateful for the support of the Catholics and Jews at the Seder, especially in acknowledging the current political situation in Turkey.

We hope to continue to conduct future collaborations between the Abrahamic religious traditions. It was our privilege to work for a more peaceful world by getting to know our Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters better.
