On June 13, 2017, Saturday evening, Pacifica Institute invited and hosted their friends from the Sunnyvale Good Samaritan Church, Los Altos United Methodists Church, Santa Clara County Board of Education Members, and the Muslim Jewish Partnership.
The evening started with a brief video about Pacifica Institute then a video about Ramadan to explain what Ramadan is and the importance of it to Muslims. The meal was served and prepared by Pacifica Institute’s very own volunteers. During the meal, there was a documentary shown that explained the Hizmet movement and the recent attacks its followers have gotten in Turkey nowadays.
The evening was spent by everyone discussing ways to improve the lives of the refugees’ here, the importance of Ramadan in Muslim’s life, and the friendships built between different groups of our community..
