Ladies Night Out – Interfaith Holiday Service Party

LadiesNightOut - Flyer2

Thank you so, so much for donating and/or participating in our service party for the fire evacuees. It was such a blessing to be able to spend the evening with so many wonderful women of faith from the community. We had over 125 women join us last night! Thank you for sharing your time, means, and talents to help those in need.

What YOU accomplished:
216 backpacks stuffed
over $2000 in gift cards

The backpacks will be delivered tomorrow and distributed to the Paradise students that are currently doing schoolwork in tents at the mall in Chico. Any remaining backpacks will then be delivered to the superintendent of Oroville, the neighboring town, where portables are being built to house those students starting January 7th. All the gift cards will be handed to local FEMA representatives in Chico who are serving as case workers for the fire evacuees. I will pass on any photos I get from the hand off.

This is what the holidays are really about! I absolutely loved meeting so many of you and feeling of your kindness. We plan on organizing more community-wide service opportunities in the future and would love to have you join us again. Until then, have a wonderful holiday season!

Sincerely,
Megan Mayo
