Pacifica Institute offers its condolences and our prayers go out to family and friends of police officer Michael Johnson, a 14-year veteran of the San Jose Police Department who was killed in the line of duty on Tuesday, March 24th, 2015.

The community has shown their support of Officer Michael Johnson’s family with vigils, commemorations, and fundraisers.  Friday, March 27th at 8:00 PM, a prayer vigil was held at City Hall Plaza (200 E Santa Clara Street). The event is sponsored by Star of David Ministries and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association.

On Thursday, April 2nd, former  San Jose Shark and co-owner of Britannia Arms, Owen Nolan, will be hosting an open-house fundraiser at the Britannia Arms located at 5027 Almaden Expressway. All proceeds received between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM will go to the family of Officer Johnson.
