The evening began with Supervisor Chavez’s talk on human trafficking which is a growing problem in Santa Clara County. Supervisor has discussed about the scope and nature of human trafficking including both labor and sex trafficking, and provided a detailed overview of the steps the County is taking to combat human trafficking with regional, national and international partners. Human trafficking denies many County residents basic human dignities and strains the County’s safety net by increasing the need for law enforcement to combat the issue. The talk ended with a question and answer session where Supervisor Chavez addressed questions by the guests

Supervisor’s presentation was followed by a dinner with samples of tasty Turkish-Mediterranean cuisine.
