Our distinguished speaker, Dr. Mahan Mirza, will be giving a talk on Islam.<\/p>\n

Bio:<\/strong>
\nDr. Mahan Mirza has started his academic career as an engineer by obtaining BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin. However, he later decides to change his academic interests and in 2010 he gets his PhD in Islamic Studies from Yale University. After that he accepts a faculty position of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the Department of Classics at the University of Notre Dame, joined Zaytuna College as Vice President for Academics last summer. He has extensively published in the area of Islam and Muslims in America. He currently serves as the editor for the forthcoming Princeton Encyclopedia of Islamic Political Thought.<\/p>\n
