On Saturday, October 25, 2014, twenty-four Pacifica Institute volunteers met with other Canopy volunteers in the College Terrace neighborhood to plant 26 new trees.<\/p>\n

Canopy is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to planting and protecting trees in parks, at schools, and along streets of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and neighboring communities.<\/p>\n

Maika Horjus, Canopy\u2019s Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, thanked the volunteers and commented that \u201c… not only did they make a difference, but the effort invested will have positive impacts for decades to come; as these trees mature and thrive, they will provide a host of benefits to the neighborhood and wider community, including shade, clean air, and a more vibrant urban tree canopy.\u201d<\/p>\n
