A Ramadan friendship iftar dinner event organized by Cultural Connections of Berkeley and Pacifica Institute to mark Ramadan and reach out all faiths was held at UC Berkeley. There were about 100 guests who came together to underline the strong bonds of friendship and relationship-building at the event.<\/p>\n

The event started with the welcoming remarks by Fatih Ates and followed by the videos about Pacifica Institute and Ramadan.<\/p>\n

Dr Scott C. Alexander, the keynote speaker at the gathering, spoke of the importance of interfaith understanding, cooperation, and life together with all communities whether they be different in religion, ethnicity or race.<\/p>\n

The iftar started with a call to prayer. It was hoped this event to be held up as an example of what can be achieved in terms of friendship and interfaith outreach especially on college campuses.<\/p>\n

The event came to an end with a live performance of Ebru art, water marbling, by an Ebru artist Hulya Yaatasi.<\/p>\n
