On Wednesday, November 15th 2017, Pacifica hosted its annual Early Thanksgiving for the benefit of NorCal fire victims. Many guests were invited including several members of churches around the area. The suggested donation was asked for $15 but each guest easily surpassed the suggested amount and reached beyond the goal total amount of $500! There were over 160 guests that attended and were enlightened by the news of the families affected in the Northern California fires as well as families who had been prosecuted in Turkey due to the recent events. There were posters of belongings that the Turkish refugees had taken with them in order to escape the purge happening in Turkey. Most of the belongings were simple but held great significance to the people who escaped the unfair and unjust sentencing of thousands of innocent citizens.
