Pacifica Institute hosted Turkish coffee night on Friday, October 12th, 2012. There is an old Turkish saying ” A cup of coffee means forty years of friendship”. This refers to the reinforcement of building long relationships and friendships over coffee. The program included a presentation of live coffee making on the stage. The demonstrators shared the history of the Turkish coffee and the unspoken messages of a cup of coffee. The evening continued with the table discussions, drinking coffee, enjoying baklava and other Turkish appetizers.
As Turkish saying goes, a heart doesn’t desire coffee, nor a coffee house but, what a heart desires is a friend, and coffee is just an excuse! We hope to see you at our next coffee night here at Pacifica Institute.
