Event Summary
The Dialog Dinner hosted by the Pacifica Institute on March 6, 2025, brought together community members for an evening of reflection, dialogue, and cultural appreciation during Ramadan. The evening began with guest arrivals, followed by welcoming remarks, which included a video about the significance of Ramadan and fasting in Islam.
The Call to Prayer (Adhan) signaled the breaking of the fast, and attendees who wished to participate or observe performed the Maghrib prayer. Guests then engaged in a shared Iftar dinner, fostering connections and meaningful conversations at their tables.
As part of the program, each table shared their feedback on the evening, reflecting on the discussions, the significance of coming together, and the impact of the gathering. This was followed by a presentation on OC Around the Table, highlighting community initiatives and discussions.
OCIN- Orange County Interfaith Network, GHBIC- Greater Huntington Beach İnterfaith Counsel, Newport Mesa, Irvine İnterfaith Counsel were parti of this gathering.
The evening also featured a reed flute and Ud musical performance, adding a touch of traditional artistic expression. The event concluded with closing remarks, leaving attendees with a sense of unity, appreciation, and shared understanding. The Dialog Dinner successfully created an inclusive space for dialogue, cultural exchange, and deeper community connections.
