Interfaith Iftar at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church
On the evening of March 23, 2025, St. Ambrose Episcopal Church hosted a heartfelt interfaith iftar, bringing together more than 60 attendees from diverse backgrounds to foster unity and understanding during the holy month of Ramadan.
As guests arrived at the event hall, they were greeted by a beautiful solo flute performance, setting a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Rev. Jessie then formally welcomed everyone, emphasizing the importance of interfaith dialogue and shared spiritual experiences.
The evening continued with a short video about Ramadan, providing insights into its significance and traditions. As the call to prayer was recited, attendees were invited to observe the evening prayer, with explanations offered on the meaning of the verses and physical motions. This immersive experience allowed for a deeper appreciation of Islamic spiritual practices.
Following the prayer, guests engaged in a thoughtful discussion, sharing their reflections on the evening and the value of interfaith gatherings. The iftar meal featured a rich and diverse selection of dishes, including chili vegetables, cornbread, chips, rice, dates, patlıcan musakka, baklava, and şekerpare, fostering a warm and communal dining experience. Bear the end, Pastor Tom led the sharing of experiences from each table how they felt about Ramadan.
The event was a beautiful testament to the power of interfaith connection, reinforcing the values of hospitality, understanding, and unity.
