Pacifica Institute is proud to partner with the Journalists and Writers Foundation for the SDGs Conference 2026, held in the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and online.
Pacifica Institute is honored to partner with the Journalists and Writers Foundation for the 11th Annual SDGs Conference 2026: Transforming Our World, taking place in the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
This international gathering brings together civil society leaders, diplomats, scholars, journalists, human rights advocates, youth leaders, and community partners to discuss practical, action-oriented solutions for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Organized in collaboration with 56 civil society organizations from 30 countries, the conference serves as a global platform for dialogue, partnership, and shared responsibility.
At Pacifica Institute, our mission to build social capital through interfaith dialogue, civic engagement, education, and community service strongly aligns with the goals of this conference. In a time marked by polarization, declining civic trust, misinformation, and global uncertainty, we believe that meaningful dialogue and collaboration across communities are more important than ever.
The 2026 conference will focus on three timely themes:
Renewing Multilateral Systems for a New Global Framework
Exploring how international institutions can become more inclusive, transparent, accountable, and responsive to today’s global challenges.
Bridging Divides: Strengthening Civic Trust and Rebuilding Shared Values
Highlighting practical ways communities can overcome polarization, foster respectful dialogue, and rebuild trust across political, cultural, religious, and ideological differences.
Press Freedom and Independent Journalism as a Cross-Cutting Enabler of Peace
Addressing the importance of journalistic integrity, media literacy, public trust, and the protection of journalists in an era of misinformation, digital threats, and artificial intelligence.
The broader Three Days of Action also includes the JWF High-Level Reception, SDGs Roundtable Discussions, the SDGs Conference, and the Pioneers in SDGs Awards, offering participants opportunities for learning, networking, and global partnership.
We invite our community partners, interfaith friends, educators, youth leaders, civic leaders, and all who care about peace, human rights, and sustainable development to learn more and take part in this important global conversation.
