BAYCC and Pacifica Institute volunteers hosted a Community Brunch on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Enver Community Center in Fair Oaks. A special feature of the gathering was the serving of Noah’s Pudding, a traditional dessert associated with sharing, unity, and cultural diversity. Made with a variety of grains, dried fruits, nuts, and other ingredients, the pudding offered a meaningful symbol of different cultures and faiths coming together.
A day before the event, volunteers prepared a colorful Noah’s Pudding Story Corner featuring the ingredients of the dessert and the story behind the tradition. As guests arrived, volunteers welcomed them to the corner and explained the history, symbolism, and preparation of Noah’s Pudding. Guests then gathered for a group photo in front of the display before being invited to enjoy brunch together.
Mr. Volkan Ulukoylu formally welcomed the guests and opened the program. Ibrahim Anli, the new Northern California Director of Pacifica Institute, shared reflections on diversity and the 250th anniversary of the United States. He highlighted how American values have been shaped by the acceptance of people from different faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.
Nurdin Kaparov, former Northern California Director of Pacifica Institute, reflected on the Institute’s activities in the Greater Sacramento region. He thanked volunteers Abdurrahman Yapik, Eda Dogan, Enes Uncuoglu, and Rabia Uncuoglu for their active involvement in Pacifica Institute programs. He also wished Ibrahim Anli and the new Pacifica Institute Greater Sacramento coordinators, Volkan Ulukoylu and Tuba Ulukoylu, success in their new roles.
Rabbi Michael Feshbach and Mr. Akram Kavel also shared reflections and emphasized the importance of interfaith dialogue and building relationships across communities. Other guests and hosts joined the conversation, sharing their own experiences and cultural connections with Noah’s Pudding. Their reflections highlighted how a simple shared dessert can become a meaningful symbol of friendship, diversity, and community.
