Pacifica Institute and Embrace Relief recently organized an informative E-Bike Education Seminar for local families, bringing together parents, children, and community members for an important conversation about e-bike safety and responsible riding.
The presentation was led by Crime Prevention Specialist Caitlin McDermott and Deputy Rodrigo Ruleas from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The speakers explained the different classes of e-bikes, the distinction between legal and illegal models, current rules and regulations, and the importance of safe and responsible riding.
The seminar attracted strong interest not only from parents, but also from children and teenagers who currently ride e-bikes or are considering using one. Participants were highly engaged throughout the program, asking many practical questions about speed limits, age requirements, equipment, road safety, and legal responsibilities.
The interactive discussion allowed both parents and young riders to better understand the laws surrounding e-bikes and the steps they can take to reduce accidents and protect themselves and others.
