OC Law Enforcement Iftar

The Law Enforcement Iftar Program organized by Pacifica Institute in Orange County took place on March 18, 2025. The event began at 6:30 PM, and guests took their seats. After the opening by the host, Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes delivered the keynote speech. In his speech, he stated that he had attended Pacifica’s iftars both before and after COVID and learned something new each time.

Afterward, a Ramadan video was shown. At 7:10 PM, the call to prayer (Adhan) was recited, and guests broke their fast. Those who wished observed  the evening prayer.

During the program, the Orange County “Around the Table” project (ocaroundthetable.org) was introduced within the scope of Miles Square Park (Fountain Valley, CA). Later, there were musical performances featuring the reed flute (ney) and oud (ud).

Closing remarks were delivered on behalf of Anaheim Police Chief, Irvine Police Chief and Cal State Fullerton Police Chief, Seal Beach Police Chief themselves, FBI ASAC Duarte, Michael Brown (Homeland Security), and Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy David Pultz.

Additionally, a $3,000 donation check was presented by Embrace Relief to the Los Angeles Search and Rescue Team in response to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
