Pacifica Institute hosted the Iftar Dinner with St John Presbyterian Church

The month of Ramadan not only lets people abstain from food and drink but also encourages Muslims to train oneself in self control, to be more open to charity and almsgiving, share what they have with the poor and needy and giving oneself to reading the traditions and the verses and the religious texts. The fasting during the month of Ramadan is for a month and it starts an hour and a half before the sun goes up until the sun rises each day. After the meal two video clips that presented the trailer and the interviews of the Anatolian Cultures and Food Festival back in April 2009 were shown. Then participants from the dinner tables reflected on their experience of sharing the fast breaking meal. Pastor Craig thanked for the hospitality that have been presented all these years.
