Harbor Christian Church Hosts a Meaningful Interfaith Iftar with Pacifica Institute

Pacifica Institute was honored to gather with our friends at Harbor Christian Church for a warm and inspiring interfaith iftar evening. We are deeply grateful to Pastor Sadie Cullumber and her husband, Ryan, for their leadership, gracious hospitality, and active participation throughout the program. Their welcoming spirit helped create an atmosphere of genuine friendship and dialogue.

The evening brought together community members to share the Ramadan tradition of breaking the fast (iftar), enjoy heartfelt conversation, and strengthen bonds between neighbors of different faiths and backgrounds. The food was amazing, and the conversations around the tables were truly inspiring—a reminder that meaningful relationships often begin with simple moments of sharing and listening.

During the program, we also highlighted Orange County Around the Table (OCAT)—Pacifica Institute’s annual interfaith and intercultural initiative that brings diverse communities together through shared meals and conversation. Guests viewed the OCAT 2025 recap video, reflecting on last year’s powerful gatherings, and we shared information about the upcoming OCAT 2026 program and opportunities to participate.

In the spirit of continuing this friendship beyond one evening, Pacifica Institute and Harbor Christian Church discussed new ways to deepen our partnership. One exciting next step is a plan to host a community cooking class, creating another opportunity for connection through food, culture, and shared experiences.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so meaningful. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to strengthen relationships between our communities—one table, one conversation, and one shared experience at a time.
